Barbie Cake

Sweet Barbie cake for Sophie delivered to the Flying Squirrel.  I'm not disappointed that we are past that stage of kids birthday parties in our house!  It was a madhouse there.  The kids were having lots of fun, that's for sure.  I also dropped off a couple dozen cupcakes, which I forgot to take a picture of.  Cake: 6" 3-layer vanilla cake with buttercream icing.

LOL Birthday Cake for Molly

Molly's birthday request was a LOL doll cake.  I was not well versed in the these toys and I did not realize how popular they were.  After some research on Google I picked out some LOL dolls to print off and laminate as decoration for the cake.  My favourite is Rocker Girl with the pink hair.  She reminds me of Miss E so much.  This was a three layer 8" vanilla cake as per Molly's request with lots of buttercream icing!

Construction Cake for Damian

For Damian's cake, Sonya's brother I did a 3 layer 8" chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing.  The lettering clouds, and pilons were done in fondant.  Fondant is much easier to work with on a smaller scale. For the cake topper and the construction trucks I cut them out on my Cricut machine.  I laminated the trucks, which made it easy to set them into the cake to stand up.  I added the white line down the two to make it look like a road with my gel pen.  So much fun.

L.O.L. Doll and Super Hero Cupcakes

Joy and Eason were having a combined birthday party so we went with vanilla and chocolate cupcakes. For Eason I did super hero themed cupcakes.  I have no idea if they are Marvel or DC.  I don't keep track.  Eason was happy and that's what matters. For Joy's cupcakes I did L.O.L. dolls.  Miss E is past this stage so I have no idea what they are really.  They look super cute.  :)

Shopkins Apple Blossom Cake

For the little sister Sofie another Shopkins cake.  This was is a 6" three layer pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese filling. My favourite part of this cake is the little worm.  To keep him upright I used a piece of dry spaghetti.  I did the same with the stem of the apple.

Shopkins Queenie Cupcake Cake

I always look forward to seeing what cakes I get to make for these two sisters each year.  This year's theme is Shopkins.  Miss E was into Shopkins a few years ago but I had no idea they had names. Chloe's cake is a 6" three layer cookies and cream cake with butter cream filling.  To make the confetti and eyelashes I used the letter "I" from an alphabet set. I think my favourite part is Queenie's nose. :)
